My Past and Current Projects!

Figured I would do a few posts of my past crafty projects, so you guys can get to know me better =3

For mothers day I made a tissue paper carnation bouquet. I have so much left over tissue paper I have no idea what to do with it. Here are the instructions for the carnations. They are beautiful, just look! I found out that my mother hates carnations, but she loves the flowers I made her. The best part is that they will never die. I got all the materials, except the glass sprite bottle at a super fresh near me. The glass bottle I got at a little mom and pop deli.

Next up is exciting! I made marbled deviled eggs! I unfortunately can not find the link for this particular crafty adventure but they came out amazing! Since I didn't have vinegar to set the color, it bled a little. The lighter parts of the eggs are supposed to be completely white. I'll be sure to post the next time i do this project, because the eggs from the tutorial i learned from are far more pretty than mine.

Now my most current project are my Harry Potter friendship bracelets. This is the Gryffendor one I'm making for Jushi, Its super thick and really hard to do because, i mean Look At It! The little hearts don't look like hearts at all! Oh well. Jushi will love it because she knows I'm stressing over it a lot and I'm putting a lot of effort into it. =3 I can't wait until its done and she can wear it to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part Two premier. =D And here we have a really bad idea gone really wrong. =/ I gave myself a hair wrap. I didn't want to pay someone to do it for me! My friend Roberto, whom i taught how to do the hair wrap, was supposed to do it for me, but he never did. I kept begging and begging but he had better things to do, like playing Halo: Reach. Also, Jushi isn't at all crafty like I am, although she is am amazing artist, so i would have loved for her to do it for me, but she might have made it look just as bad as I did. But who knows maybe if i teach her she'll be able to give me a beautiful hair wrap.

Thats all for now. Until next time

Off schedule, and that's fine

I want to have a schedule for my blog, Sunday or Monday and then Thursday or Friday sounds good to me, but I don't know if I have that much to talk about. SO, I will pick a number from http://www.tomslatin.com/80-journal-writing-prompts/

How about a number? Going to this perfectly good http://www.random.org/integers/ i have chosen the number 63

If you could tell the world just one thing, what would it be?

"Stop, smile, laugh and suck it up." We all disagree, lets stop killing each other and just get on with our lives. We have more important things to do than be horrible nasty people to each other, such as eating chocolate, going to school, working, worshiping (if that's your thing), or being with people you love.

Shall we go for another number? No! Then on with my life.

Ive been really bad about my summer of Netflix, but I did watch a few good movies with my mom (one and only follower, woo hoo!)

Midnight Run - OMG super funny Robert De Niro is an amazing actor. =3
Biloxi Blues: Ive seen this one before and the ending always gets me laughing.
The Haunting Conniticut - Ive seen it before and it might have been even more creepy this time than the last time, cause mom and i got into the mood with a dark room and candles lit.

Tomorrow we're going to watch Dr. Horribles (how i convinced her to watch it i'll never know, but she'll love it!) and Walled In, another really good creepy movie. Netflix for the win =3

So, ive decided, and i only just decided this, that im going to knit my wedding dress. Since it should take me two years, i think i'll get started asap. Im thinking tea length. solid stockinette with a lace cover, lace train and lace veil. skip the veil? im not a fan of veils. i love The Veils, great band...we'll see what happens. Im gonna buy a bodice and petticoat when the time comes (far off in the future i hope. need to finish school first). so i'll basically just be making the skirt. but the skirt needs two layers and is gonna be around 30-40 inches in length, unlike the measly 23 inches my skirt is gonna be now. i want the underskirt to be honedew (my absolute favorite color) with white lace. lace yarn is expensive! its ridiculous! but before i can do any of that i need to learn how to knit lace and of course get a job to pay for it all!

I can't wait for my birthday. MONEY FOR YARN!

My first ever pattern...sort of.

so OH MY GOSH, I finished making this last night! I am so excited because I used a combination of two patterns to make this. I know it's more of a variation than a real pattern that I made but I'm still super excited! I am a Hufflepuff, alumni at this point, lol, but a Hufflepuff none the less. Here are the ravelry links to the two patters i used. Battenberg Cuffs and Alphabet Charts I used the cast on and bind off for the battenberg cuffs as well as the k/p stitching for the first two rows. After that i strictly used stockinette stitch, its the best stitch!, until the top most black stripe and then reverted back to the Battenberg cuff pattern.

I am horrible at counting stitches, so what should have been a cuff turned into an anklet, but that's good because i wanted one. On the plus side, the bottom of the cuff flairs out because i was knitting loosely and then tightened my stitches into the black stripes. I'll be making a Gryffindor one soon for my girlfriend =]

Hopefully i have time to make at least one more of these before the HP7.2 Premier =3

Adios mi amigas, bueno suerte.

School Work

School work is piling up and the only one to blame is totally myself. =/
I lost my flashdrive at school on Thursday and it set me back almost a month of my research project for sociology, which i have to get done by tomorrow night.
Also by next sunday I have to make a powerpoint about said paper, which i had already completed on my flashdrive. On Tuesday I have a written assignment due in English, as well as, oh no!, a 4 page paper in Computers. >< Losing my flashdrive was the worst thing that could happen at the end of this semester. I have the worst luck.

Mothers day is tomorrow, im hoping my mother likes the present i made her. I want to go out to eat, but we might not, which is cool.

My dress is coming along fabulously, if i stopped now i would have a miniskirt! I think i will actually be able to get it done by June 10th!

Until next time,
~Dusty

T minus 15 Days til the end of the semester

I have 15 days until the end of the semester. And, OMG, do I have a ton of homework. I only just finished one of my six-seven final projects I have due before the end of the semester. On Tuesday I have my finished power point due  (Computers) a quiz in Spanish, and a vocal quiz in Spanish, on Thursday I have another power point (English), a vocal presentation (English) and a 4 page written essay for the Tuesday power point due (Computers). On Sunday I have a 5 page research essay due( Sociology), surprising seeing as my midterm was 10 pages long.  Next Week I have nothing due in English, but a written test in Spanish, my Spanish final, a Sociology power point, and my Computers final.

Then i have a week of cataloging books and attempting to sell them. I trying to sell them for a dollar each and i will be sure to post this list here, on my very own blog for everyone to see and perhaps buy. My Manga will go for 5 dollars a piece, because i know those will sell for 5 dollars.

During that week, as a catalog and clean, I will be speed knitting along with job hunting. Wish me luck! I need a summer job for moneys!!!!!! I want at least 100 dollars to spend at Anime Next, because Jushi spoiled me by buying me beautiful furry gear, while she has none.

I'm looking forward to my week off between spring semester and summer classes. I expect to be over worked, super stresses and ultra cranky during the summer, what with the heat and humidity. I hate humidity, i can't sleep at all on humid nights

On Saturday i went to a sweet sixteen part for Jushi's cousin Dana. It was a beautiful party, the food was fantastic and her dress was absolutely stunning. While i was bored the entire night, what with a horrible DJ, and not having any internet, it was still a fun time. =]

until next time,
